I know it’s finally warm outside; I think it is safe to say that winter is officially over! But I made this cake a few months ago, for my cute little niece, Anna. It’s traditional to have a little party after a baby girl is born. Although Anna won’t remember, her cake was super cute.
The bottom tier was covered with gray fondant. Then I airbrushed it a metallic silver color. This cake tier measured 8 inches in diameter.
This middle tier was the focal point of the cake, and took a really long time to create! I needed to cut strips of varying widths in 4 different colors to apply to the cake. This technique was definitely worth it though, I love the bold graphic look it gives the cake.
The top tier was simply covered in pink and adorned with a cascade of snowflakes. I had purchased a snowflake cutter and embosser set and was just waiting for the perfect occasion to use it. I wanted the snowflakes to look like they were actually falling out of the sky. Happy Birthday Anna!
stunning cake!
Oh my goodness..how did you get the snowflakes to stay? Gorgeous!
